Elle & Lui is an elegant duo of bronze figurines. At first glance, it may not be clear how they are related to each other, but their body language, as well as the name of the artwork – Elle & Lui, French for her & him – suggest this is a portrait of two lovers. The figures radiate a sense of mutual understanding and trust, which conveys an intimate atmosphere.
The artist Guy Buseyne’s work consists of sculptures that portray human beings in a society subject to multiple challenges, natural and man-made disasters, and who try to overcome them. The facial expressions in his designs are undefined, which enhances the universal character of the pieces and arouses a greater sense of identification in the viewer.
